club Competitions

Every Sunday during the season Swanny runs Points Races which are open to all members and all abilities. Points Races are about participation and glory is only attained on a mysterious handicapped lottery system.

Throughout the season there are several Cup events which are much coveted due to the handicap system giving all members an opportunity to claim bragging rights. To be eligible all you need to do is complete three Points Races so your handicap can be set and vetted.

Presidents Cup 800m Swim

Oldham Memorial Cup 1200m Swim

F.E. Ford Cup 1600m Swim

Duncan McPhail Trophy 1500m Run

Caris Cup Endurance Run-Swim-Run

Handicap events aside, the Swanbourne Cup Mixed Board Rescue is arguably the pinnacle of surf lifesaving in Western Australia (according to Swanny). Grab a partner, do zero or secret training and then hope for a wave. One of the most fun mornings on the beach, the Swanbourne Cup pits male and female teams against each other and the dreaded Swanny shore break.

The season's competition finale, Club Champs is a day for all levels of fitness and froth. Enter one event or enter them all to accumulate points and determine who is crowned Champion Male and Champion Female for the season. A separate trophy is also up for grabs for new Bronze Medallion holders competing in Club Champs.

Swanny also has a small group of competitors who attend surf carnivals throughout the season.
