About the event

With the introduction of Lifesaving CPR (L CPR), the L CPR session will be run as a standalone session to the beach-based activities session. Skills Maintenance will take a bit longer than previous years as these are big changes that the National L CPR team have developed.

To complete Skills Maintenance for SRC, Bronze and ART this season (First Aid award holders are encouraged to attend L CPR aspects), Members will be required to undertake:

  • Lifesaving CPR eLearning – approximately 30 minutes (plus an extra 5 to 10 minutes for ART holders)

  • Lifesaving CPR face-to-face session – allow 2 hours

  • Beach-based activities – allow 45 minutes.

The Lifesaving CPR eLearning must be completed before the Lifesaving CPR face-to-face session, as it provides critical background information and the face-to-face is mostly hands-on practice. The eLearning comprises a short introductory video, Lifesaving CPR and a brief ART update.

For the beach-based activities we recommend you bring your own fins for the new Run-Swim-Rescue (replacing the Run-Swim-Run). The Run-Swim-Rescue consists of a 100 m run and 100 m swim (timed), then safely perform a 100 m rescue with a tube (untimed).
