SNSLSC AGM & NOMINATIONS FOR POSITIONS OF OFFICE SEASON 2026/2027

Dear Member,

Our Club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday 24 May 2026 and it would be great to see you there.

NOMINATIONS FOR POSITIONS OF OFFICE

SEASON 2026/2027

At the AGM we elect the Management Committee and Officers that will help run the club and make Swanny what we know and love for another season. All club positions are declared vacant and we'd like to receive as many nominations as we can prior to the AGM. 

We encourage all Members to review the Swanny Organisational Chart below and consider nominating for a role, especially new Members and those who have not previously held a position of office at the Club. If you have questions about any of the positions, please contact the current portfolio manager or Logan Ovenden-Clarke via president@swannysurfclub.org.au  and/or contact admin@swannysurfclub.org.au for a copy of the duty statement.

If you wish to nominate for any of the positions listed please complete a hard copy Nomination Form and submit it here. Alternatively, electronic nominations will be accepted via the online Nomination Form or appropriate email chains showing seconding and acceptance of nomination in lieu of signatures. Please see the legal requirement for Management Committee nominations below.

Nomination forms must be received by 5:00pm Saturday 23 May 2026 (the day before the AGM), but it is best to complete and submit the form early.

Please note only Active and Award (i.e. patrolling Bronze Medallion or Surf Rescue Certificate holders), Long Service, Life and Country Members are eligible to vote at the AGM, however all Members are welcome to attend. 

Legal requirements for Management Committee nominations:

Management Committee Nominations must ensure they comply with the following points:

Become familiar with and comply with the (State) Associations Incorporation Act 2015 and the Associations Incorporation Regulations 2016 and confirm not be in contravention of section 39 of that Act:

Under the Act a person is excluded from being on the Committee without special approval from the Commissioner for Consumer Protection if they:

• are bankrupt or their affairs are managed under insolvency laws;

• have been convicted of:

  • an indictable offence in relation to the formation or management of a body corporate in the last five years;

  • an offence involving fraud or dishonesty punishable by at least three months imprisonment in the last five years;

  • an offence under section 127 of the Act, where a person has allowed an association to operate while insolvent in the last five years; or

  • an offence under Division 3 of the Act which sets out the duties of officers and committee members.

Management Committee members must:

• be over the age of 18

• Become familiar and comply with the Club’s Constitution and Policies and agree to adhere to the rules of the Club to the fullest extent possible.
