Australian Olympic Change-Maker Awards 2025

The Australian Olympic Change-Maker Awards brought together 25 of the best student-athletes from across Australia, with the goal for them to work alongside Olympians and fellow members of the Australian Olympic Committee.

Congratulations to Club Member Lachlan Broomhall from Shenton College (WA) who was nominated by his teachers as a student who actively demonstrates leadership through sport and/or uses sport as a vehicle to improve health and wellbeing and drive social change in their school and/or local community.

They weren’t just talking about the future of Australian sport, they were actually being asked to help shape the future of the Australian sporting landscape. Their ideas weren’t just written down and forgotten about, but actually heard on a national stage by Members of Parliament and senior AOC leaders who genuinely want to help them bring that change to life working towards the green and gold runway and Brisbane 32.

The biggest highlight wasn’t the week in the AIS, the workshops, meetings or opportunity to speak at Parliament House it was the people. The friendships built between the 24 other like-minded student athletes and the Olympians… some of the most grounded, humble, inspiring humans you could ever hope to meet.

A once in a lifetime opportunity like this is only possible due the incredible people behind the scenes @ausolympicteam and the @theais_
