Tim Tucak

SNSLSC Club Championships 2023/24 Under 14 – Sunday 25th February 2024 Congratulations to Hannah Engelbrecht and Aubrey Mellor who are the Under 14 Club Champions for 2023/24. Club Championships 202324 U14 Club Championships 202324 U14 Detail 1. In second place was Angus Alcorn, who competed in all events, beat an U17 in the Run Swim Run and won the Beach Flags bonus round. 2. Congratulations to Aubrey Mellor who made a clean sweep of all U14 Club Championships events. 3. Well done to Hannah Engelbrecht, who showed up U15 and U17 competitors in the Run Swim Run, Long Run and Surf Race. SNSLSC Club Championships 2023/24 Under 15 – Sunday 25th February 2024 Congratulations to Eleanor 'Ellie' Turton who is the Under 15 Club Champion for 2023/24. Club Championships 202324 U15 Club Championships 202324 U15 Detail 1. In second place was Neve Stilwell, who really should have done the Surf Race and the Iron. Neve reportedly sat or laid down during the Long Run and was wave cracking during the Iron. 2. Well done to Ellie, who showed up U17 competitors in the Run Swim Run, Long Run, Board Race*, Surf Race* and Iron*. (*First Female competitor in these events). 3. None of the two Under 15 Male competitors competed in the Club Championships. SNSLSC Club Championships 2023/24 Under 17 – Sunday 25th February 2024 Congratulations to Annabella Alcorn and Harrison Pazin who are the Under 17 Club Champions for 2023/24. Club Championships 202324 U17 Club Championships 202324 U17 Detail 1. In second place was Valentina Kuruc, who won first four races, Run Swim Run, Long Run, Board Race and Surf Race, but was hampered by injury for the Beach Sprint and Beach Flags and was unable to do the Iron. 2. Sophie Gallagher, unfortunately injured in the Open Club Championships still did the Board Race (try stopping her!) and laid down to take third in the Beach Flags 3. Well done to Bella who competed in all eight events including the Ski Race. 4. Harry, Josh Engelbrecht and Stirling Stilwell competed in all eight events, including the Ski Race, to take the podium. 5. Eli Harrison sprinted at the end of the Run Swim Run to pip Lachie Broomhall on the line. Eli then felt 'unwell' and had to miss his event, the Long Run. 6. The U17 Board Race was a reversal of the Open Board Race in the Pazin v Stilwell Battle of the Boards! 7. Lachie covered a lot of ground in the Beach Flags initial rounds, that may have used up some energy for the straight line final. 8. Oli Defrancesco drew position 1 in beach flags, more than once and including the final. Perhaps Lydia gave him some tips? 9. Jordi's 10 am photo of Youth Club Championships participants was taken about 10.10 am so thank you all for allowing us to get through the program promptly. Club Champion Lifesaver – Sunday 25th February 2024 Congratulations to Tim Tucak who is the Club Champion Lifesaver for 2023/24. Runner up and Female Champion is Leesa Equid. Third place and Under 17 Champion is Josh Engelbrecht. 1. Leesa was late for marshalling again 😉. Well, we rescheduled from Thursday night to Sunday morning to suit Leesa and Josh. 2. Theory paper was the SLSWA Champion Lifesaver paper for 2023 re-imagined. Re-written for this competition by Tim. A deduction of an additional 1 point for every incorrect answer was applied to Tim's theory paper to account for having written the questions 🤦‍♂️. 3.  This is the first time Josh has competed in Champion Lifesaver. He will be competing at the State Championships in Champion Lifesaver and Champion Patrol. He was the only competitor to announce he was applying PPE in the Resuscitation Live Patient Assessment. Unfortunately this does not garner a bonus point 😒. 4. The Board Race and Surf Race were conducted in conjunction with the Youth Club Championships. Thank you to the Youth for accommodating this. 5. We forgot to take the traditional competitors and their racing boards photo. SNSLSC Club Championships 2023/24 Under 19 – Sunday 18th February 2024 Congratulations to Marnie Griffiths and Robbie Brigg who are the Under 19 Club Champions for 2023/24. Club Championships 202324 U19 Club Championships 202324 U19 Detail 1. In second place was Morgan Broomhall, who won the Beach Sprint and was second in the Surf Race. 2. Marnie, swimming to her strengths, won the Run Swim Run and Surf Race as well as the Board Race and Beach Flags. 3. Only one Under 19 Male competitor competed in the Club Championships. SNSLSC Club Championships 2023/24 New Bronze Medallion Trophy – Sunday 18th February 2024 Congratulations to Soph Gallagher and Josh Engelbrecht who are the New Bronze Medallion Trophy winners for 2023/24. Club Championships 202324 NBM Club Championships 202324 NBM Detail 1. Soph and Valentina may have collided in the Run Swim Run 2. Valentina went home after the Long Run, perhaps as a result of 1. She won the Run Swim Run and Long Run for the New Bronze Medallion Trophy and would have been expected to do well in the Surf Race. 3. Bella didn't do the Run Swim Run. Had she, then she would have been a clear second rather than equal second. 3. Bella did do the Run Swim Run. The results were re-transcribed as the original set were considered messy and Bella's name was omitted. Results have been adjusted accordingly. 4. Congratulations to Soph for continuing on after 1. 5. Stirling really needed Eli to beat Josh in the Board Race in order to have won. 6. Congratulations to Josh for winning by a single point! SNSLSC Club Championships 2023/24 Over 40 – Sunday 18th February 2024 Congratulations to Kristie Orchard, Alen Pazin and Justin Owens who are the Over 40 Club Champions for 2023/24. Club Championships 202324 O40 Club Championships 202324 O40 Detail 1. Fiona and Tim contested a 'Mixed' Veterans Flag final that Fiona won! 2. If Tim had run harder in the final leg of the Iron and beaten Alen, then Justin would have won by 1 point. 3. Fiona was one point off third, having won both the events she contested. 4. Justin was first in the ski, Alen did his first ski race. 5. For the second successive season Justin has shared first placed in the Over 40 Club Championship. Perhaps he should take up Beach Sprint / Flags? 6. Jo did the Run Swim Run. The results were re-transcribed as the original set were considered messy and Jo's name was omitted. Results have been adjusted accordingly. SNSLSC Club Championships 2023/24 Open – Sunday 18th February 2024 Congratulations to Kath Laws and Rhodri Simmonds who are the Open Club Champions for 2023/24. Club Championships 202324 Open Club Championships 202324 Open Detail Club Championships 202324 Sprint Heats and Iron Placings 1. Sydney Hodges was second in the Run Swim Run but is not currently a member, so good to see you on the beach Sydney, but we won't see you in the results. 2. Eli and Justin were tied for third in the Long Run. 3. Soph and Maia were tied for third in the Board Race. 4. I think I messed up the Open Womens Beach Sprint draw as Heat 1 had 5 runners and Heat 2 7 runners. 5. Fiona was the only person disqualified for breaking in Beach Flags. 6. Lydia kept drawing position 1 in beach flags, all the way up to and including the final. She thought the draw was rigged. 7. Iron draw was Ski Board Swim. Drawees were Bernie and Soph. 8. Iron result record '1. Kath (by a landslide)' and '8. Lydia (with a smile)' 9. Select competitors (1st, 4th and 6th) in the Open Womens Iron were presented with small childred as a prize! 10. We finished about 11.19 am! 11. How about next season we have Friday night Beach Sprint and Beach Flags and the rest of Club Championships on a Saturday morning? 12. Youth won 5 events and had 14 podium positions! Age difference between 1st and 2nd on the Open Mens Board Race was 35 years! 13. Bella and Jo did the Run Swim Run. The results were re-transcribed as the original set were considered messy and Bella's and Jo's names were omitted. Results have been adjusted accordingly. Leavo had the original records so the results have been corrected to match these. 14. Feature photo will be updated once I source actual Club Championships photos. 15. Well done to Josh Engelbrecht, Rhodri Simmonds, Stirling Stilwell, Kath Laws, Maia Simmonds and Kate Hutchinson who competed in all 8 events. Tim Tucak did the same including O40s events. Lydia Defrancesco competed in 7 events and according to the SLSA Sports Manual is not allowed to paddle a ski, which is the event she missed. Swanny Iron Series 2023/24 Congratulations to Kath Laws and Rhodri Simmonds who are the Swanny Iron Series Round 2 – The Specialist Champions for 2023/24. 202324 Round 02 Results Congratulations to Kath Laws and Brenton Laws who are the Swanny Iron Series Champions for 2023/24*. 202324 Round 02 Progressive Points *Assuming we don't decide to add in Round 3, 4 or 5!
