About the Event

At Swanny, the Country Carnival is an institution spanning generations. Races, competition, team celebrations and a hint of adventure, it's got it all!. Since 1932*, the Swanny crew have dominated country carnivals. Fun for all ages and the whole family!

Country carnivals have something for everyone from Under 8 and up. The events include all beach (sprints, flags, relays, 1 km and 2 km runs) and water (board, swim, ski, iron, surf boat, cameron/board/ski/taplin relays). We also look forward to cheering on our boaties whilst they race over the weekend!

All Swanny Members are encouraged to participate in at least one competition event for the weekend (the atmosphere is extremely inclusive). Please ensure you complete the questionnaire to indicate if you/your nipper will be participating in the carnival and the events you will likely be competing in.

You are required to enter yourself in via https://entries.surftec.com.au/ (enter anything (everything!), including teams events, you think you may want to race - no issue if you don't then race). Note: Cost is $20, pay when you enter (i.e. not to Swanny).

Full details including schedule and payment details refer to this document (also linked in Swanny Shorebreak eNews).

Please ensure you complete the questionnaire to indicate if you/your nipper will be participating in the carnival and the events you will likely be competing in. Please complete the questionnaire by Monday 16 December 2024.

*Probably not 1932. A Bunbury carnival was held in the 1950s and 1960s, with rotation to Denmark in 1967 and Geraldton in 1968. The infamous “Safari Suit” Country Carnival of ‘93 started the Swanny tradition of outfits for country carnival bus trips.
