Congratulations to Robbie Brigg who is the winner* of the Duncan McPhail Trophy for Season 2024/25, in a fast finish against a course long challenge from Stirling Stilwell in second (possibly carrying an injury), 16 seconds behind. Fiona McLarty was third , 15 seconds behind Stirling. Robbie was also the Fastest, ahead of Alen Pazin and Stirling. Robbie is the third youngest winner of the Duncan McPhail Trophy. Rhodri Simmonds was late to the start line, 1 m 40 s after his nominated start time. He would have finished second has he started at the correct time. He might have sprinted to overtake Robbie, but would have been ineligible to win. Philip Cave unfortunately injured his calf during the race and had to withdraw.
Ten runners contested the Duncan McPhail Trophy this season. Thanks to Timothy Tucak for timekeeping and recording. Running conditions were a crowded post Nippers beach front, the IRB launching area and the usual assortment of dogs on Vera View.

*Obligatory Stewards inquiry pending in the back offices, including attendance at Blue Party!
