Ocean M – Mixed / Family Team Event Results Season 2024/25

Congratulations* to Team Engelbrecht - Hannah Engelbrecht, Tom Peebles, Lisa Engelbrecht and Josh Engelbrecht who are the winners of the Ocean M - Mixed / Family Team Event for Season 2024/25. With Andrew Engelbrecht absent, Team Engelbrecht recruited wisely and asked Presidents' Cup winner, Tom Peebles to be their swimmer. Hannah ran with a 33 sec deficit that was erased by Tom who gifted Lisa a 1 min 46 sec lead for her board paddle. Lisa only gave up 18 secs, which allowed Josh to cruise through the ski paddle in the slowest time, but still cross the line comfortably in first place.

Second place was Team Stilwell – Hadley Stilwell, Neve Stilwell, Amity Stilwell and Stirling Stilwell, superbly organised by Davina Goldthorpe, meeting both the mixed and family team criteria! Aquaphobic Hadley ran, with a slight 4 sec lead over Team Engelbrecht, passing to Neve to swim, who made no ground on Tom, but overtook Dani to move into second place. Amity put all of Blake's Thursday morning Nipper Boards training and tricks into practice in the board leg, before Stirling came home in the fastest ski time, to finish second, only 16 secs behind the winners

Third place was Team NiDa-TiLo – Ninette Lorenzen, Dani Marsland, Timothy Tucak and Logan Ovenden-Clarke. Cobbled together from any non Engelbrecht/Stilwell family members on the beach, Team NiDa-TiLo started strongly with Nins blitzing the run, before resuming parental duties. Dani swam, with Monday evening Swimming sessions paying off, tagging to Tim who put in the fastest board leg to catch Amity and give Logan a 20 sec lead over third. Logan made up ground on Josh in the ski leg, but was overtaken by Stirling, to finish third, 23 secs behind first and 7 secs behind second.
