Most people would struggle to run a single business while raising a young family — but Chris Wilson isn’t most people.
Wilson is not only opening a brand new Nedlands fitness studio, he’s doing it while juggling three kids under four, running three other gyms, preparing for a fundraising mission for Telethon, and taking a tilt at council.
Alongside his partner Rosanna, the founder of Bodyscape Yoga, Wilson says his life is a balance of barbells, babies and big picture community goals.
Wilson jokes he’s in a “one-for-one” program — every new baby seems to come with a new gym.
“It’s definitely busy, but we love it,” Wilson said.
“Rosanna and I have always balanced family and business as a team — we involve our kids where we can and make sure they see what we’re building. The kids often ask to go to daddy’s gym or mummy’s yoga studio. Fitness is our passion, and community is at the heart of everything we do, so it doesn’t feel like a burden; it feels like a privilege.”
Next month, Wilson will open what he dubs Nedlands 2.0, a flagship facility at 108 Stirling Highway that more than quadruples the size of his original 50sqm Nedlands site.
The expansion includes Perth’s first double sled Hyrox track, luxury recovery services, and small, capped classes designed to deliver a premium, personalised fitness experience.

“We were the first studio to bring Hyrox to Perth,” Wilson said.
“With Perth hosting its first Hyrox last year, we wanted to create a purpose-built space so our members could train properly and be at the forefront of this fitness movement.
“It’s about giving our community the best possible training environment and setting a new standard for boutique fitness in WA.”
Including the opening of his first south-of-the-river location in Applecross in May, the latest studio also
marks a $500,000 milestone investment into the WA community.
But business growth is only part of Wilson’s mission.
With the City of Nedlands currently under administration, he has also announced plans to run for the elections on March 28.
“My platform would focus on supporting local businesses, improving green spaces, revitalising council processes and ensuring transparency,” Wilson said. “I plan to run for mayor as well as put my name forward for the Dalkeith ward.”
Wilson is certainly no stranger to giving back to the community, with a portion of every gym membership supporting the Swanbourne Surf Life Saving Club and Telethon.
And on October 18-19, on Telethon weekend, he will row nonstop to raise further funds for the renowned Channel 7 charity fundraiser. For now, the focus is firmly on Nedlands 2.0, which
opens with a free community launch day on October 4.
